Jagmohan Garg says that the Finance Ministry has requested that AIIMS survey client charges — cash charged from patients for OPD conference, lab tests, imaging administrations and room rentals among others — to meet the foundation’s expanded non-arrange use.
V Srinivas, representative executive (organization) of the establishment affirmed this to TOI on Sunday. He said client charges have not been looked into at AIIMS for a long time now. “The last audit occurred in 1996. From that point forward, the foundation’s use has developed multifold, particularly on compensation of staff, travel cost and consumables,” he said.
Jagmohan Garg news said that a meeting was held as of late in the chairmanship of the organization chief to work out administrations where charges should be climbed. The charges for indicative tests, for instance CT sweep or MRI, are ostensible. Yet, even that is postponed by specialists in almost 30% to 40% cases.
“There are a few tests that cost just Rs 10 to Rs 25. We will investigate these expenses,” said a senior authority.
